The exhibition brings together prominent professional and international artists from various countries to celebrate human creativity, the richness of cultural diversity, and the profound transformative power of art. In this way, it allows works created in different parts of the world to be viewed and appreciated simultaneously by a global audience, transcending borders and uniting sensibilities through artistic expression.

This 100% virtual exhibition, organized by Aurum and Luis Arturo Elias Arronez, businessman and Ambassador of the Global Peace Chain, in conjunction with various international institutions and organizations, creates a global space for cultural dialogue, visibility, and the sale of contemporary artworks, where art knows no geographical or cultural boundaries. French overtakes Classical Arabic as the fourth most spoken language in the world

France: French has become the fourth most spoken language in the world, with approximately 396 million speakers, surpassing Modern Standard Arabic, which has fallen to fifth place globally, according to the latest report from the International Organization of the Francophonie. French follows English, Mandarin (in China), and Spanish, reflecting the rapid shifts in the global linguistic landscape.

In the report “French in the World 2026”, presented by the Secretary-General of the organization, Louise Mushikiwabo, during March in Quebec, a remarkable increase was recorded in the number of French speakers, after it was estimated at 321 million in 2022. This growth is partly attributed to the adoption of a new statistical methodology that included children who receive their education in French, which contributed to its rise to fourth place, surpassing Classical Arabic.

Sharjah: Xposure 2026 celebrated its 10th anniversary with A Decade of Visual Storytelling, featuring more than 570 creative events in Sharjah, UNESCO-designated Cultural Capital of the Arab World (1998), from January 29 to February 4, 2026.

In the heart of the United Arab Emirates, there were over 420 international photographers, filmmakers, and visual artists, 126 talks and panel discussions, 72 workshops, and 280 portfolio reviews. Xposure received a record 29,000 photography and 634 film entries from 60 countries. The festival spanned both indoor and outdoor spaces, covering a single temporary venue of over half a million square feet.

For more than forty years, Iraqi calligrapher Wissam Shawkat has dedicated his life to the timeless art of Arabic calligraphy. Through precision, passion, and discipline, he has transformed traditional script into a contemporary visual language that speaks to global audiences. Today, his work stands as a bridge between heritage and innovation.

His flowing calligraphy has appeared on remarkable platforms. From presenting his art to Tim Cook on an iPad to illuminating the iconic Burj Khalifa in Dubai, Shawkat’s letters have traveled far beyond paper. Yet, at its heart, his work remains deeply personal and rooted in classical foundations.

“Al Wissam Script” – A Modern Signature

Shawkat’s latest exhibition, “Al Wissam Script,” was presented at Tashkeel Studio and Gallery. The exhibition featured 51 paintings that highlight his unique style, bold, dynamic, and experimental, yet respectful of traditional calligraphy rules.

Interestingly, Shawkat did not plan to create a new script. The style developed naturally over time. Around 2004, while designing logos for banks and media companies, he began experimenting with letterforms. Art Basel is coming to Qatar for the first time , and it’s a significant step. This is the fair’s debut in the MENASA region, showing how the global art world is increasingly focusing on this part of the world. The event takes place at M7 and the Doha Design District in Msheireb Downtown Doha, highlighting Doha’s strong cultural vision and its growing position in international contemporary art.

Running from February 5–7, the fair features 87 galleries and 84 artists. More than half of the artists come from the MENASA region.
