Exhibition : Yellow. Beyond Van Gogh’s Colour
Yellow is warming, exuberant and radiant. It is daring, intrusive, and sometimes even sickly. Yellow is also the colour of Vincent van Gogh. Discover why this fascinating colour represented courage and renewal in the 19th century, and what the colour means in the arts. The exhibition shows what yellow meant to Vincent van Gogh and his contemporaries, starting with his Sunflowers painting. An installation by Olafur Eliasson highlights yellow's impact on art, fashion, music, and literature from around 1900. Using Vincent van Gogh’s iconic Sunflowers (1889) as a point of departure, the exhibition shows how the colour became a powerful means of expressing emotions, ideas and ideals – from warmth and energy to modernity, rebellion and spirituality – in the period around 1900.

Matisse 1941-1954 at the Grand Palais, Paris 2026

The exhibition Matisse. 1941-1954 sheds light on the final years of Henri Matisse's career, between 1941 and 1954, through more than 230 works - paintings, drawings, cut-out gouaches, illustrated books, textiles and stained glass - from the Centre Pompidou collection and major international loans. It reveals the multidisciplinary scope of his practice during this period, while bringing together an exceptional group of cut-out gouaches.
