The special edition celebrates the evolving role of artists, galleries, collectors, and institutions in shaping the region’s creative ecosystem. More than a commemorative moment, it stands as a living reflection of Art Dubai’s continuing commitment to fostering a dynamic, inclusive, and globally connected art scene.
This year’s fair unfolds in a refreshed format while remaining rooted in its founding vision of innovation and accessibility. Featuring over 100 presentations from commercial galleries, institutional participants, and cultural partners, the 2026 programme brings together a wide spectrum of contemporary, modern, and digital practices. The fair remains open to the public free of charge until 17 May, supported by the ongoing partnership with Dubai Culture & Arts Authority.

Over the past twenty years, Art Dubai has established itself as a vital platform amplifying artistic voices from the region while connecting them to global audiences. The 20th edition is both reflective and forward-looking, honouring its legacy while reaffirming its role in shaping contemporary cultural discourse.
Key institutional partners this year include the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority as strategic partner, A.R.M. Holding as presentation partner, and HUNA as a leading cultural collaborator. Madinat Jumeirah continues to serve as the fair’s longstanding and symbolic home.
Speaking on the occasion, Benedetta Ghione, Executive Director, Art Dubai Group, noted: “Art Dubai has always been more than a conventional art fair, evolving into an international platform that reflects the region’s growing cultural maturity. This special edition demonstrates the power of collaboration and long-term partnerships. Culture brings people together, and at a time when convening feels more important than ever, Art Dubai stands as a space for connection and exchange.”

Dunja Gottweis, Director, Art Dubai Fair, highlighted the breadth of this year’s programme, stating: “This edition reflects Art Dubai’s unique DNA, with strong representation from Dubai, the wider region, and international participants. Across contemporary, modern, and digital practices, the fair presents a diversity of perspectives, from modern masters to emerging voices and experimental digital practices, underscoring the depth and ambition of participating galleries.”

Adding to this perspective, Alexie Glass-Kantor, Executive Director, Curatorial, Art Dubai Group, described the curatorial direction as one rooted in collaboration:
“‘Things we do together’ has shaped this year’s programme, exploring how artists, galleries, institutions, and audiences come into relationship across the fair. From large-scale installations to talks, performances, and informal gatherings, the aim is to create an open, connected experience that encourages deeper engagement with art.”

Beyond its gallery presentations, this anniversary edition extends into a broader cultural experience, featuring installations, commissions, screenings, performances, and a daily programme of talks and conversations. Together, these elements transform the fair into an immersive cultural platform that reflects Dubai’s position as a leading centre for contemporary art in the region.
As Art Dubai celebrates twenty years, the fair continues to reaffirm its founding mission: to bridge regional practices with global perspectives, while nurturing a space where ideas, cultures, and creative voices converge.
