Abudhabi: Louvre Abu Dhabi is strengthening its commitment to uniting art, knowledge, and family connection in 2026 through a dynamic range of interactive programmes and innovative cultural experiences designed for audiences of all ages. Marking the “Year of Family,” the museum invites visitors to come together beneath its iconic dome and create meaningful shared memories in an environment that fosters learning, discovery, and togetherness.
Reflecting on this vision, Maral Bedoyan, Education and Learning Resources Manager at Louvre Abu Dhabi, shared that the museum’s carefully curated calendar of activities reinforces its role as an inclusive cultural destination where families can engage in enriching experiences while spending quality time together. She emphasised that the initiatives align closely with the UAE’s broader objectives for the Year of Family, encouraging deeper connection, dialogue, and intergenerational understanding.

The 2026 programme features a wide spectrum of educational and creative offerings tailored for all age groups, including family weekends, after-school activities, and self-guided explorations. Among the highlights is The Secret of the Dome Stars, an interactive digital treasure hunt that transforms learning into an engaging, narrative-driven adventure. Complementing this are immersive storytelling experiences and guided family tours designed to spark curiosity and shared discovery.
A significant part of this year’s initiative is the museum’s commitment of over 120 days dedicated to family-focused programming, underscoring its sustained effort to nurture accessible and meaningful cultural engagement throughout the year. This long-term approach reinforces Louvre Abu Dhabi’s position as a space where culture is experienced collectively and continuously.
Adding a distinctive dimension to the 2026 programme is the introduction of Breezi floating breathwork sessions, developed in collaboration with Breezi and held beneath the museum’s breathtaking dome. These guided wellness experiences combine breathwork techniques with immersive soundscapes, allowing participants aged 12 and above to float and follow structured breathing instructions. Designed to promote relaxation, focus, and emotional release, the sessions offer a rare moment of calm within a powerful architectural setting.

Scheduled from 1st to 3rd May and 22nd to 24th May 2026, the sessions will include specially curated evening and sunset formats, enhancing the sensory experience of the space. In parallel, the museum’s wellness and family programming will also feature a complimentary screening of the acclaimed animated film Inside Out on 2nd May at the Louvre Abu Dhabi Theatre. Admission to the screening is free, with prior registration required.
Extending beyond special events, Louvre Abu Dhabi continues to expand its year-round family weekend programmes, along with enhanced seasonal camps during summer and winter. These initiatives place greater emphasis on collective participation, intergenerational exchange, and shared learning experiences, further strengthening the museum’s role as a vibrant cultural hub where families and communities come together.
