This November, Cairo will once again become a vibrant hub of creativity as Cairo Design Week returns for its highly anticipated fourth edition, taking place from 19–28 November 2026. Celebrated as one of the Middle East and North Africa's most influential design festivals, the event continues to position Egypt as a dynamic destination where heritage, innovation, craftsmanship, and contemporary design converge. Over ten inspiring days, the Egyptian capital will transform into a citywide exhibition, inviting designers, architects, artists, makers, brands, educators, and cultural institutions to engage in an immersive celebration of creativity. Spanning the historic districts of Zamalek, Downtown Cairo, and Heliopolis, the festival will activate galleries, cultural landmarks, public spaces, and unexpected urban locations, turning Cairo itself into an open-air museum of ideas.

Since its inception, Cairo Design Week has grown beyond a national platform into an internationally recognised meeting point for creative exchange. What began as an initiative to spotlight Egyptian design has evolved into a thriving ecosystem that connects regional talent with global practitioners, encouraging meaningful dialogue and cross-cultural collaboration. Reflecting on the festival's remarkable journey, Hisham Mahdy, Founder of Cairo Design Week, noted that the platform has expanded into a space where designers, institutions, and brands from around the world come together to exchange ideas, foster partnerships, and celebrate the creative industries shaping the future.

Design as a Catalyst for Change

The 2026 edition places a strong emphasis on international participation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and design-driven innovation. Through exhibitions, installations, workshops, talks, panel discussions, and interactive experiences, the festival will explore the evolving role of design in addressing contemporary challenges while enriching everyday life. More than a showcase of aesthetics, Cairo Design Week positions design as a powerful catalyst for cultural dialogue, sustainability, urban development, social innovation, and economic growth. Visitors can expect engaging conversations that examine how thoughtful design shapes the environments people inhabit, the communities they build, and the futures they envision.

The festival also creates opportunities for emerging designers to share the stage with established studios, global brands, and leading creative institutions, fostering valuable connections across disciplines and borders.

A Global Platform for Creative Collaboration

One of the defining features of Cairo Design Week is its commitment to bringing together a diverse international community. Designers, architects, makers, creative entrepreneurs, galleries, universities, cultural organisations, and industry leaders are invited to participate, creating an environment where ideas can be exchanged across cultures and disciplines. The festival continues to strengthen Cairo's position as an important creative capital within the region while contributing to the broader global conversation surrounding contemporary design, craftsmanship, innovation, and cultural identity.

Open Call for Designers Worldwide

Applications are now open for designers, brands, galleries, creative institutions, and cultural organisations interested in participating in Cairo Design Week 2026. The festival welcomes innovative projects across multiple design disciplines, offering participants an opportunity to present their work to an international audience while engaging with one of the region's most influential creative communities. Whether through exhibitions, installations, collaborations, product launches, or educational programmes, participants will become part of a festival that celebrates creativity as a force for connection and transformation.

As Cairo prepares to welcome the global design community once again, the fourth edition promises an inspiring journey where tradition meets innovation, local craftsmanship intersects with global perspectives, and design becomes a shared language capable of shaping a more creative and sustainable future.
