In a landmark moment for Dubai’s evolving cultural landscape, Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, inaugurated the House of Arts at Expo City Dubai. The opening marks a significant step in strengthening the emirate’s vision of becoming a global centre for creativity, artistic innovation, and cross-cultural exchange.

The event brought together dignitaries, artists, curators, and cultural leaders, all gathered to witness the birth of a dynamic new hub for multidisciplinary arts. The House of Arts is housed in the iconic former Morocco Pavilion, an architectural jewel acclaimed for its design excellence and recently nominated for the prestigious Aga Khan Award for Architecture. Thoughtfully repurposed and redesigned, the seven-floor space now offers expansive exhibition halls, workshop rooms, and cultural programming areas, reflecting its mission to inspire, educate, and build community.

During the inaugural tour, Sheikha Latifa explored the House of Arts’ first major exhibition, “Interwoven,” featuring compelling works by 18 artists from the UAE, the GCC, and the wider Arab world. The exhibition highlights diverse narratives and artistic expressions, showcasing the region’s creativity in contemporary formats. Her Highness praised the featured artists for the originality of their ideas, the depth of their perspectives, and their commitment to enriching the UAE’s cultural fabric.

The establishment of House of Arts is part of a long-term strategic partnership between Dubai Culture and Expo City Dubai, aimed at expanding cultural offerings, providing inclusive access to the arts, and fostering talent development. This collaboration underscores Dubai’s steady rise as an international arts destination and its dedication to supporting regional and emerging artists.

With its visionary programming and exceptional facilities, the House of Arts is set to become a vibrant platform where creativity thrives, communities connect, and the future of regional art continues to unfold.
